Queen B

Thanks again for the lovely comments!

Wrapping up our topic of the week which is "Little Girls", a.k.a LGs... I thought I'd end off this discussion with an image I found the other day. This image is a screenshot I took from a video called "How heat score are you". From the other videos I've seen, the video usually ends off with a different girl that is nominated to be "LG of the Week." How it works is that random people can email the channel of potential girls that can be nominated for this title. Then, the Chengman, owner of the video will then choose the girl he thinks fits best. I'm guessing his requirements of the queen of LGs is along the lines of a girl who has caked makeup with false eyelashes, cleavage shot, juicy track suit and UGG boots.

To be honest, I think this is the dumbest thing I have seen in a while. The fact that guys is spending their time on nonsense like this. First of all, it's unethical to be sending pictures of girls (who usually are their friends) to be nominated as "LG" of the week. It's not a compliment to be called one, that's for sure! It's even worse being called one on a mainstream social media website that is viewed across the world. Second, what gives guys the right to judge girls appearances. Girls may do it however they discuss it in private and amongst themselves. Unlike males who yell it across the hall and always comment on how LG the girl might be.

Imagine your face instead of hers. Your picture will automatically pop up when people search "LG of the Week" in the google search engine. Would you want to be seen like this? I know I wouldn't!

In the end, I think this all leads back to males. I'm not blaming the fault on males but I feel that a significant influence is caused by them. Girls dress and act a certain way so their peers can socially accept them. Majority of the time is to impress the boys. To avoid any negative effects on girls, guys can start by stopping with the name-calling and categorization of girls. It may seem like a joke and harmless, but honestly it can be hurtful.

That's the end of this topic of the week! Comment below for any suggestions of topics for next week!

How to Be 101

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post!
So continuing the topic of the week...

Tonight I was just doing the usual procrastination routine of watching YouTube videos...when I came across this one video that I felt the need to share. This video is called "All About the LGs" and made by IFHT, Gentleman's Vibe, The Chengman and Dannie Riel. It's a music video that features the ideal image of an LG that society portrays. The lyrics of the music video describes the stereotypical look of an LG.

According to the music video, a girl who is seen with:

"Juicy pants, caked up face
LuluLemon, T.N.A"

...is defined as an LG.

Society already labels those certain brands as the brands that LG buy. Other brands that they're seen wearing a lot are True Religion, Rock and Republic, Baby Phat and UGG. Typically girls who don't want to be in that category avoid any purchases of those brands. Well at least I know I do. Especially when girls are wearing UGG boots, it becomes a fashion faux pas. Why can't a girl just wear them for comfort without being judged? I find it crazy how society emphasizes on the freedom for individuals to dress any way they want, however, girls are being judged of their physical appearance whether or not they fit society's perspective of "normal."

Another part of the song I found quite disruptive:

"Yeah we hunt, we gon' slay
we're searching everyday"

Throughout high school, whenever a guy were to be interested or wanting to chase after an LG, they were called a LG hunter or LG slayer. Hunting is a noun to describe a search for an animal for food or a sport. I find this down grading to females because men are categorizing girls with animals. So are girls now the same as animals?

Have any thoughts about this? If so, don't forget to comment!

LG

I found this topic to be so interesting that I decided to have it be a week's discussion instead of just a day. This week's topic is: What is an "LG"?

LG A341, LG Optimus G, LG G2?
NO. NO. and NO.

It's not the electronic company, but an abbreviation for "Little Girl." Nowadays, it has become an everyday slang that is used by majority of adolescents in society. The definition of LG is seen to be along the lines of:

However, this is only one opinion of the billion people in the world. So my question for today is what does an LG mean to you? Comment below if you think you know!
